Rilla Foley, owner of Harmony Landing, opened this unique home décor store in September 1999 with her daughter, Elizabeth Edwards. Rilla has an extensive background in retail ownership, as a retail store owner in Louisville, Kentucky, prior to her job as Retail Consultant, Regional Director, and Managing Director for RMSA Consulting Division in Atlanta, Georgia .

While working for RMSA in Atlanta , Rilla developed and managed the largest account in the Southeastern region. Rilla also developed and tailored seminars on Inventory Management and Sales Development for market centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, and Boston . She also implemented the Retailers in Distress turnaround programs for a major mall management company.

Upon moving to Birmingham and buying retail property in downtown Homewood, Rilla and her family decided on a name for their store that reflects their family heritage and history. What better expression of home than the name of our family home in Kentucky, says Rilla. Harmony Landing, the store's namesake, was built by her great grandfather in Oldham County on the banks of the Ohio River outside Louisville. Currently, the family home is a country club, but Rilla keeps family traditions a part of her Birmingham lifestyle.

Lynn Howland, InteriorsLynn Howland

Lynn Howland is the in-house interior designer for Harmony Landing. A graduate of the New York School of Interior Design and a former designer for twenty years with Marilyn Glass Design in New York, Lynn now offers her expertise and experience to Harmony Landing clients.

Lynn works hand-in-hand with clients as a designer consultant for their primary, as well as secondary, homes. This sought after and personalized service offered by Harmony Landing allows clients the opportunity to work with an interior expert to determine what designs and arrangements best fit their homes. Lynn offers to her clients the opportunity for home visits, where she assesses their home(s) and advises them on home décor fashions that correspond to the area dynamics as well as their personal tastes.
