Rilla Foley, Owner

Rilla Foley, owner of Harmony Landing, opened this unique home décor store in September 1999 with her daughter, Elizabeth Edwards. Rilla has an extensive background in retail ownership, as a retail store owner in Louisville, Kentucky, prior to her job as Retail Consultant, Regional Director, and Managing Director for RMSA Consulting Division in Atlanta, Georgia .

While working for RMSA in Atlanta , Rilla developed and managed the largest account in the Southeastern region. Rilla also developed and tailored seminars on Inventory Management and Sales Development for market centers in Atlanta, Dallas, Chicago, and Boston . She also implemented the Retailers in Distress turnaround programs for a major mall management company.

Upon moving to Birmingham and buying retail property in downtown Homewood, Rilla and her family decided on a name for their store that reflects their family heritage and history. What better expression of home than the name of our family home in Kentucky, says Rilla. Harmony Landing, the store's namesake, was built by her great grandfather in Oldham County on the banks of the Ohio River outside Louisville. Currently, the family home is a country club, but Rilla keeps family traditions a part of her Birmingham lifestyle.

Blakely McGarity, Interiors

Blakely McGarity is our newest designer on staff. Following in her mothers footsteps she attended the University of Montevallo where she studied Interior Design. Throughout college, she worked with her mother at CBM Designs and did several internships with Schumacher, Williams Blackstock Architects, and Birmingham Home and Garden Magazine. After graduating, she moved back to Homewood in hopes of furthering her career in interior design here at Harmony Landing!
